Chapter 448 - Medical and Legal Aspects of Traumatic Strangulation and Trial Preparation Course

Participants will learn how to identify injuries, including the possibility of internal injuries that require prompt recognition and intervention. Legal definitions and implications surrounding strangulation are discussed, along with the need for accurate documentation, investigation practices, and legal proceedings.

This course is a joint venture between many community partners, including the Chapter 448 East Central Indiana Emergency Nurses Association, Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, several Delaware County prosecutors, EMS services, law enforcement, and others.

Registration begins at 0745 (7:45 a.m.) Eastern Time. The course will start at 0800 (8:00 a.m.) and is scheduled to end by 1630 (4:30 p.m.) Eastern Time. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided with registration.
