Brandy Summers BSN, RN, SANE-A, CEN, TCRN

Professional Biography

With over 25 years of nursing experience, I am a dedicated emergency nurse, educator, forensic nurse, and healthcare leader with a passion for advancing nursing practice and developing the next generation of nurses. My career has been shaped by a commitment to patient-centered care, lifelong learning, advocacy, and leadership.

Although I am not currently practicing in the emergency department, the emergency room remains an important part of who I am as a nurse, and I know my time in the ED is not yet finished. My emergency nursing experience continues to influence my leadership, clinical perspective, and dedication to caring for patients and supporting healthcare professionals in challenging environments.

Currently, I serve as a manager within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), where I have the opportunity to lead teams, support quality patient care, and contribute to improving access to healthcare within the community. My experience as an educator and leader allows me to mentor others, foster professional growth, and promote excellence in nursing practice.

After 25 years in nursing, I remain passionate about emergency nursing, education, leadership, advocacy, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, nurses, and the communities we serve.

ENA Involvement

My commitment to emergency nursing and professional leadership has been especially evident through my involvement with the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), which I have been an active member of since 2010. Over the years, I have had the privilege of attending ENA's national conference as both a delegate and attendee, while also serving in leadership roles at the state and local chapter levels. These experiences have provided meaningful opportunities to advocate for emergency nurses, build professional relationships, and contribute to the continued advancement of emergency nursing.

Why are you interested in serving?

I am interested in serving as State Secretary because of my passion for the Emergency Nurses Association and my commitment to supporting and advocating for emergency nurses. I want to help ensure that our voices, experiences, and needs are represented and heard at the state level. I would be honored to contribute my time, energy, and leadership to ENA and help strengthen our organization and the emergency nursing community.
