The Indiana Emergency Medical Services Association and the Indiana Emergency Nurses Association are working together again to bring emergency-related education to Indiana’s emergency healthcare providers. This conference signifies the third year of this successful collaboration between Indiana’s emergency providers.

The conference theme is “Reignite” to accentuate the growing bond between EMS and emergency nursing. Reignite your passion. Reignite your education.

The conference will be held from November 21-22, 2024, at the French Lick Springs Hotel at 8670 West State Road 56, French Lick, IN 47432.

Call for Abstracts / Papers

The Indiana Emergency Medical Services Association and the Indiana Emergency Nurses Association have opened the Call for Abstracts / Papers for the Crossroads Emergency Conference 2024. Please consider submitting an abstract to this growing conference. The submission deadline is June 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm Eastern Time.

Submissions should be relevant to the pre-hospital and emergency care arena and address interesting and innovative educational topics, research, evidence-based practice, or quality improvement efforts. Topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Opioid crisis

  • Disaster Planning and Management

  • EMS/Nursing Education

  • Leadership-Management

  • Interesting clinical presentations and patient management (e.g. cardiac, trauma, etc.)

  • Specific skills training

  • Resilience

  • Work environment

  • Critical care transport

  • Stroke care

  • Community paramedicine

  • Forensic nursing

  • Human trafficking


Conference Schedule

Last year’s conference hosted over 45 speakers from 12 states. Attendees were able to choose from more than 60 individual educational sessions offering up to 14.25 nursing continuing professional development or EMS contact hours. Educational topics ranged from:

  • Critical Care/Specialty Care,

  • Disaster Preparedness/Emergency Management,

  • Acute Disease Management,

  • Leadership and Management,

  • OB/Pediatrics,

  • Trauma,

  • Triage,

  • Wellbeing/Workforce Safety,

  • and many more.
