Professional Bio

2013-present: I have a Masters in Nursing Leadership and Management and for the last 2 1/2 years I have been the Director of Emergency Services and House Supervisors for Community Hospital South. My responsibilities include maintaining and growing the day to day operations of a medium sized ED, collaboration with EMS to grow business, and support the success of the primary stroke and chest pain accreditation for the south campus. Prior to that, I had 5 years of managerial experience on a surgical and progressive care unit at Community Hospital South.

1998-2013 I began my nursing journey at Wishard Health Services in their Level 1 Trauma ED. During my time I cared for the vulnerable population of Indianapolis. I also precepted new staff to the department and was the first leader of the ED's shared governance. I also cross trained as a House Supervisor which sparked my interested in operational leadership.

ENA Involvement

I have participated in the Indy Roadrunner scholarship committee and most recently hosted the CEN review course at Community Hospital South.

Interest in the Position

I have a passion for leadership and advocacy of nursing practice. If elected, I will continue the exceptional work of the local ENA as well as grow our footprint in the state of Indiana and beyond.

Interest in the Position

It is my opinion that the record of ENA meetings should be accurate, clear and presented timely to the membership for review and approval. Meeting minutes serve to facilitate transparency and are a conduit for communication with the members who are unable to attend meetings. Furthermore, complete meeting minutes enable the organization president to review old, new and unfinished business and to create meaningful and effective meeting agendas leading to more effective meetings. As Secretary, I pledge to meet these requirements.
